The AS/AP™ Cut Order Processing system tracks finished goods from authorization through work-in-process to finished inventory. Cut order processing also ties work-in-process and finished inventory together with raw materials inventory through the trim sheet.

Since AS/AP™ is designed for distributors as well as manufacturers, a company can run either purchase order processing, cut order processing or both systems parallel to each other. Raw materials inventory is only present when cut order processing is active.

If a company purchases a finished product, but, has no responsibility for the actual manufacture of it there may still be a need for raw materials and even cut order processing. The mere fact that a company does not actually sew the product does not mean that the product should not be tracked through the manufacturing process.
